How I can support you

Whatever your age, I offer a comprehensive range of therapeutic services tailored to your unique needs. Whether you seek face-to-face sessions or online support, I am here to help you navigate life's challenges with compassion and expertise.

Therapeutic Services

Counselling

Counselling can offer support with a wide range of life’s challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, intrusive thoughts and periods of change or uncertainty.

As a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor, I draw on Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural therapies to tailor support to each client’s individual needs. My work is also solution-focused, supporting you to explore what you would like to be different and what may help you move towards those aims. With a specialism in CBT, I am also able to signpost you to practical strategies and tools that may support your progress both within and beyond counselling sessions.

Counselling provides a safe, confidential and nurturing space where you can talk openly, explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and begin to make sense of what may be affecting your wellbeing. Through this process, it can help you gain greater clarity, develop coping strategies and feel more empowered to make positive changes in your life.

Counselling for Children and Young People, aged from 8 to 18.

I understand that seeking counselling for your child can feel like a big step, and I aim to make the process as supportive and reassuring as possible. I offer age-appropriate counselling for children and young people, with the number and pace of sessions guided by your child’s individual needs.

My approach is integrative, drawing on Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Alongside talking therapy, I may also use play and creative approaches, including art, where this feels helpful. These can offer children a safe and gentle way to express feelings, process experiences and develop coping strategies, while building confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses hypnosis to support positive change. It works by helping you enter a deeply relaxed and focused state, where it may be easier to explore thoughts, feelings, habits and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Hypnotherapy can be used to support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, phobias, panic, confidence, self-esteem, habits, smoking or vaping cessation, weight management, exam anxiety, tinnitus, IBS, pain management and deep relaxation.

My approach is gentle, professional and solution-focused. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, helping you work towards your goals in a safe, supportive and empowering way.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, is an evidence-based therapy that can help people process trauma and distressing life experiences. It is particularly well known for treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and is recognised in national and international guidelines as an effective treatment approach.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or tapping, to help the brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing the emotional intensity connected to them. You do not need to talk in detail about everything that has happened, which many people find reassuring.

Sessions are paced carefully and safely, with the aim of helping you reduce distress, build resilience and feel more able to move forward.

About me

I’ve spent the past five years working in counselling, therapeutic, and wellbeing roles, supporting adults, children, and young people through a wide range of experiences. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and focused on helping people feel understood and supported as they explore what’s happening in their lives.

Alongside my counselling and hypnotherapy work, I continue to teach in Further Education — a role I’ve held for over 20 years. Much of my teaching has involved supporting learners with additional needs, neuro-diversity, and mental health difficulties,  work similar to a school SENDCO role.

This experience has shaped my belief in compassionate, individualised support, and in recognising the different ways people experience the world. It also means I bring a deep understanding of learning needs, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of feeling safe, included, and understood.

Helping others has always been central to my career — and moving into counselling and hypnotherapy felt like a natural progression, allowing me to offer a safe, calm space where people can talk openly and work towards meaningful change.

I’m passionate about helping people recognise their strengths, build confidence, and find practical ways forward. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together towards positive change.

Working With Children

Sessions for Younger Children

Relaxation and hypnotherapy sessions for younger children take place with a parent or carer present. This helps create a safe, familiar environment where your child can relax fully.

Counselling sessions are different, to help your child feel at ease, parents and carers wait in the reception area during sessions. Many children engage more confidently with a little space, and you’ll be close by if needed.
